So…. fun fact. I’m really really terrible at blogging. This wedding is long overdue to be posted. When I photographed it I was pregnant. A weird condition of this particular pregnancy was that even looking at the computer made me nauseous. Then 2 years have flown by so quickly that now the little stinker is 2. Yeah 2. So that brings us to the present. Times have been a little weird ( or a lot) and now Im feeling nostalgic for a time where we had less to worry about and could pack as many people in to a wedding that we want. Also, Sacramento is in full blown 100… Keep Reading
Love in a Time Before Covid
Erin and Alex are getting married tomorrow. Things don’t look quite how they pictured it when we took these engagement photos a year ago. Looking back it seems like everything was more simple. The hustle and bustle of our fast paced lives, the ability to hug your friends, (or a stranger), breathing without a mask…. I could go on. Instead let’s look at this beautiful couple, who won’t let a pandemic stop them from creating a happily ever after together.
Mama Sessions
There is something magical about a mama getting photographed with her kiddos. If your a mom, then you know, that you are often the one behind the camera capturing the many moments, smiles, laughter and tears of your littles. It’s not often that you get to be photographed capturing those same memories with them. I treasure those moments, weather its a selfie taken with my phone or weather I have hired a photographer to do it for me. Your kiddos will remember those moments with you. They won’t judge you for anything than what you are. You are their beautiful mama, with open arms, smiles and kisses. You are the… Keep Reading
Hometown Engagement Session
Last fall, when my friend Josh, (Childhood friends since birth? Our parents grew up together!), told me he was getting engaged I was thrilled. I was even more thrilled when he asked If I would photograph their engagement photos. I started dreaming of going down to Hunting Beach, the ocean and dreamy Southern California landscapes. I was happily surprised when Josh and Ryan wanted to come back home to Sacramento and take photos here. We happily planned for when they would be here during the holidays. The weather was amazing, and of course the iconic Sacramento scenery can’t be beat. We had a great time catching up and walking around… Keep Reading
“It’s Everything”
The actor Michael J. Fox has said “family isn’t an important thing. It’s everything” When my friend and favorite client asked me to take pictures of her family and her extended family I said absolutely. There is no other moment like the present to capture time with your family like now. Life changes quickly, and if we forget to capture it, then the moment, the laughter, the time shared with one another is just a memory weaved in your mind. capture the moments… the good… the silly… the awkward. Drag your family in front of a camera today. It doesn’t have to be mine, though if it is I would… Keep Reading
Summertime Engagement
These two kids just got married! So now is obviously the right time to blog their engagement session! In the story of them, Tyler said that he noticed Emily first. It reminds me of a quote from J.D. Salinger ” She wasn’t doing a thing that I could see, except standing there, leaning on the balcony railing, holding the universe together.” May you continue to hold the universe together for each other. Happy Honeymooning! xoxo till next time
Mountain Destination Wedding
Look at this gorgeous venue! This property, (the grooms parents)almost burnt down in a wildfire 6 weeks before the wedding! A private vineyard, breathtaking views, nestled between hills in the Wenatchee, Washington. The grooms parents spent a very intense few weeks re-landscaping the property before the wedding. This wedding took place over labor day weekend last year. It started with an amazing rehearsal dinner coordinated and styled by the merry makers at Merriment Party Goods. The dinner was supposed to take place outside, on the beautiful grounds surrounding the home. The weather had other plans for us. The wind decided to pick up and blow soot from the burned hillside everywhere!… Keep Reading
Schools Out!
This guy just graduated high school a couple weeks ago. Ryan was so much fun to work with! He was up for anything. I asked him if he was secretly a model. He nailed every shot. Ryan is out heading out of state for college in the fall. And… Ryan wants to be a nurse. You know as a RN myself, I couldn’t have been more excited to hear that! Here is to your future Sir! Good luck and if you have any nurse questions… don’t hesitate to call! Till Next time… xoxo
Sacramento Fun
Sacramento has a lot of unique places, that are steeped in gold rush era history. “Old Sacramento” is one of those places. It is one of my favorite places to photograph because there are so many unique building, colors and alleyways. These kids were awesome! They put up with me running them back and forth across old town and kept me entertained the whole time! xoxo
Party of 3
Some of life’s biggest surprises are our children. They bring with them all of our hopes and joys for the future. The surprise is sometimes in their arrival, but mostly the surprise is watching them grow and figuring out whom they will become. Welcome to the world little one! And to you, beautiful mama, this image make my heart ache. It is love… tangible and real, captured forever through the lens. Till we meet again xoxo
